Issue 42: Welcome Mira & Emeline to KP!
We're growing and and inviting more folks to the fun. Check out the new features coming in 2025!
Heeey KP!
We’re solidly in holiday inertia season — are you okay out there??? Given the flurry of activity this time of year, Aram and I are preparing for a long winter’s break and ending the year by sharing exciting new people and features to come in January 2025!
Please welcome Emeline Lee! Emeline is joining KP as an editor of Immigrant Hustle, our monthly mini memoir feature.
Emeline is an author by day with a passion for Immigrant Hustle’s mini memoirs by night. She has a talent for supporting people in storytelling and finding every typo. It only made sense for us to help her merge her talent and passions at Komerican Pie! :) Check out Issue 29 for Emeline’s own mini memoir from August. Learn more about Emeline at emelinelee.com and on IG @emelineleebooks.
And another warm welcome for Mira Garrett Bayonne! We are so excited to share Mira’s poignant reflections and expansive views through a new quarterly feature called Lost in Translation.
Mira will explore how “being a part of a diaspora can involve feeling lost or disconnected, ” and how the dichotomy of cultural duality is actually an “‘evolutionary super power’ — a linchpin to broader human connection.” Welp, we’re ready to hear more! Especially after being gifted with Mira’s mini memoir in March’s Issue 13.
We’re bringing new flavors to Komerican Pie in January 2025! Learn more about our new features In the Kitchen with…, Lost in Translation and Quotation Meditation under Our Ingredients and admire Aram’s artwork to match.
We’re cooking up more meaning and delicious fun for you next year! Lastly, please consider gifting us this holiday season by sharing KP with your friends and family! It would be a great “free” gift for them, too!
We’re still working towards our goal of gaining readers in every U.S. state, heck why not the world? WE SEE YOU new readers in Idaho and Iowa! BEM-VINDO to new readers in Portugal! Where are you Kentucky and Nevada? We know you’ll love taking a bite of Komerican Pie! Wishing you the best for the rest of 2024. See you on January 11th with Issue 44!
