Issue 63: Don't Miss These Five Summer Performances!
Sweet & Salty List: Cool must-see shows for when summer heats up.
Heeey KP!
Down south in ATL, we’re getting into summer mode with a high of 88 degrees today and Memorial Day approaching — the unofficial kick-off to summer! I love the slower pace and flâneur-y that summer brings. It’s an invitation to enjoy life more and indulge in all the delicious cold things — bingsu and iced americanos are my personal favorites. Summer mode usually includes seeing concerts and shows that I missed during the busy school season (yes, I’m a mom!) and letting loose outdoors with both nature and art. Here’s a list of some of the things I plan to see… or wish I could! Don’t forget to leave time for inspiration and entertainment this summer. XX

May 31: j-hope’s Hope On The Stage - Global Live Viewing (Everywhere)
A little something for the BTS Army! j-hope’s solo world tour which launched in February is coming to a close with finale shows in Japan on May 31-June 1. We get to be a part of it with a live viewing of the finale in local theaters everywhere! What a cool (and affordable!) way to see a concert — with A/C and movie popcorn.
June 3-10: GYOPO @ Walt Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles)
As part of the Seoul Festival with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, GYOPO, a collective of diasporic Korean cultural producers based in LA will be offering contemporary dance, music, and video representing the Korean diaspora alongside the best classical musicians from South Korea. It’s a dream collaboration in an era celebrating our heritage. Just go!
June 27: Squid Game Season 3 (Netflix)
Don’t think this needs explaining! While this isn’t live (or live-recorded) like the other events on the list, it’s worth sharing right?!
July 12-27: Blackpink World Tour (North America)
YAAAS I can’t wait for this! I missed Blackpink’s last tour and will be hitting one of the NYC shows this summer. Now that Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo and Rosé have their successful solo albums out, it feels even more special to see the group back together. I can’t wait to be hit with that “DDU-DU DDU-DU!”
Ongoing: Maybe Happy Ending (Broadway! NYC)
Now nominated for 10 Tony Awards, this award-winning musical is one of the hottest tickets on Broadway! Created by Will Aronson and Hue Park, Maybe Happy Ending takes place in later 21st century Seoul and details the connection between two life-like helper-bots, Oliver and Claire, reminding us that “love is never obsolete.” If you can’t make it to New York — the show just announced it will launch its North America Tour in Fall 2026! Keep your eyes peeled for this special musical coming to your hometown.
